Glencore Drops 2.5% After Broker Downgrade and Copper Pullback

LONDON, June 18, 2026, 10:11 BST Glencore shares dropped roughly 2.5% at the open in London on Thursday after a new broker downgrade and as copper prices slipped. The stock changed hands near 568.7 pence, down from Wednesday’s finish at 583.2 pence. (Trading Economics) Glencore shares have dropped about 20% from their 52-week high of 707.2 pence set on June 3, giving back some of the rally that almost doubled the stock over the last year. Now investors are weighing how much of Glencore’s copper outlook is baked into the price.

India Gold and Silver Prices Slide as Fed Rate Signal Hits MCX Futures

New Delhi, June 18, 2026, 14:42 IST Indian gold and silver futures fell sharply on Thursday, with silver taking the heavier hit, after the Federal Reserve’s unexpected tilt towards higher interest rates prompted fresh selling. August gold opened at ₹152,306 per 10 grams, down about 1%, while July silver opened at ₹248,000 and later slid to ₹245,509 per kilogram. (Live Hindustan) The weakness spread to physical-market benchmarks. Gold of 999 purity — equivalent to 24 carats — dropped ₹816 from Wednesday evening to ₹149,332 per 10 grams.

L’Oréal Agrees to Buy Majority Stake in Innovist, Owner of Bare Anatomy

The deal gives L’Oréal control of a set of fast-growing haircare and skincare brands as it looks for a bigger piece of India’s beauty market. Closing is expected in the next few months, depending on regulatory sign-off. (ETStartup.com) L’Oréal is making the purchase after saying its India unit has been underperforming.
